Following yesterday's score release, I can finally say I'm done! This post is dedicated to anyone who resonates with the feelings I've experienced. It's for those considering leaving the accounting field entirely, feeling the urge to quit, or struggling with motivation to finish these exams.

My journey:

FAR - 62, 59, 75

AUD - 74, 73, 78

REG - 55, 75

BEC - 77

I embarked on my CPA journey in early 2020, only to fail my first FAR exam. Then came the pandemic, halting testing centers and disrupting routines. That initial failure left a deep mark; it was the first time I had put immense effort into something and came up short. The pandemic-induced hiatus from studying felt like a break, but it also led me into a rut of complacency. Throughout 2020 and 2021, I grew resentful of my accounting job, reaching a point where I contemplated leaving the field altogether. My motivation dwindled to nothing.

In December 2021, a realization struck me: if I aimed for better prospects and wished to move on from my current position, obtaining my CPA was the surest path. I attempted AUD in Feb 2022, only to score a disappointing 74. The retake in April yielded a 73. It felt like I was hitting rock bottom in my CPA journey. Determined, I shifted focus to BEC and reattempted AUD concurrently. Come June, I received passing scores for both. Suddenly, I went from failing all exams to being halfway through. It was a turning point; there was no turning back.

The remaining challenges loomed large – REG and FAR, my toughest hurdles. I failed REG, then FAR. Retaking REG brought a glimmer of hope, and a week before my second attempt at FAR, I learned I had passed REG. It was the spark I needed to push through for my FAR retake.

Throughout this journey, my motivation was virtually nonexistent. I loathed accounting, but deep down, I knew pursuing a CPA was the right career move. It wasn't easy; it was scary and frustrating. Yet, it's possible. Even if every moment feels like a struggle, even if you despise accounting, you can study and pass these exams.
