After graduating from college in 2019, I found myself just 9 credits short of the CPA requirement. Initially, I doubted my ability to pass the exams due to my poor test-taking skills and my intention to pursue a career in the private sector. However, fate intervened, and I landed a job at a local power company shortly after graduation. Over time, I climbed the ranks. Then, in September 2022, my boss proposed the idea of pursuing the CPA credential. Seeing this as an favorable moment, I decided to take the plunge. I quickly completed the last nine classes at the community college in my locality and started my CPA career in January of this year.Within a span of six months, from my initial test to my final one, I managed to achieve my goal. My approach was rigorous. I was fortunate to dedicate 4-8 hours daily to study during work hours, supplemented by 2-3 hours on weekends. Exclusively utilizing Becker, I diligently attended all lectures, filling two notebooks with comprehensive notes for each subject. After completing each section, I tackled the multiple-choice questions and task-based simulations, reserving 7-10 days for final review. Despite my lingering self-doubt, I persevered. My scores, in order, were: FAR (91), AUD (80), BEC (92), and REG (86). My journey may not mirror others', but it serves as a testament to the potential within each of us. Despite my past struggles with exams and confidence, I stand here today as proof that success is attainable for anyone willing to put in the effort.To those embarking on a similar path, I urge you to surround yourself with a supportive community. Whether you succeed or encounter setbacks, having a solid support system can make all the difference. Trust me, despite the challenges, the journey is undeniably worth it. You are all capable of achieving your aspirations.
